The third episode of Russian Football Now breaks down the past week’s two World Cup Qualifiers.
Russia won in St. Petersburg over Liechtenstein, 3-0, before winning in Cardiff over Wales, 3-1. This kept the national team on a collision course for what will be a hyped match against Germany in Moscow on October 10, where Group 4 of UEFA’s qualifying process will be on-the-line.
With the league shut down for World Cup Qualifiers, there was little news to talk about. But rumors of Zico’s demise deserved a mention, as did Luciano Spalletti and the idea of him bringing with him prominent Serie A players to Russia.
